Upcoming Trip to Seattle

I've been invited to Seattle by Cornish College the second weekend in May. They are honoring me with an Honorary Doctorate at their commencement ceremony on Sunday the 14th.  I Feel very touched and (for lack of a better word) "Honored" to receive this recognition from such a prestigious art school. While in Seattle I'll also have a bit of time to spend with my Aunt and Uncle as well as visit with friends from college.  I'm really excited and I can't wait to share my experience with you all. Follow me on Instagram to see my posts and stories during my trip!

Also to be honored at the ceremony is artist Abigail Gray Swartz, who recently painted the unforgettable Women’s March cover for The New Yorker. In it, she re-imagined the classic “Rosie the Riveter” image as a powerful woman of color. Her work captured national attention for its ability to simultaneously portray the significance, the humor, and the diversity of the event. “Abigail personifies the passionate artist as a social commentator,” said Kevorkian.
