hello to those who might stumble upon my blog! It's been a while since I posted here, mostly because squarespace did away with thier email your blog post while you're waiting in line- to your site option. That was the only way this busy lady blogged. Yes they got rid of it in December around the time I got the Plague. Then I rallied, knit several Pussy hats, drew some thoughts on the women's march and sent them into the New Yorker, and life has not been the same since. Well... that's not entirely true- some stuff is painfully the same- hello winter and snow days!
So I thought I would check in and say hello and share some links about my whirl wind- dream come true, first ever cover for The New Yorker.
To answer some popular email questions: you can purchase a print of the cover at The New Yorker Store. There is a possibility I might sell my own print of it without The New Yorker cover lines, but I don't know for sure, it is still being discussed. T-shirts are being made and I will share a link and more on that by Monday Feb 20th, also look for the full page ad in the Feb 27th New Yorker.
And now if you want to dork out and read up on the cover here are some links!
There are more articles, including local news papers, and I'm sure a few that I have yet to find via google, or a shout out, but these seem like a nice collection for now. So yes, that happened. It's been lovely and exciting. It feels like a game changer in some ways. Suddenly my goals for 2017 seem manageable and within my reach which is really exciting- because I've worked hard to get here and secondly because I should start saving for the kids' college funds! super exciting stuff.
